What one check shows you

What the first check tells you

You pick the prompts for your site, from discovery or pasted in, and the check fires them at ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI Overview. The Overview boils it down to six rates, each answer counted once:

  • Visibility: out of all answers, the share naming you.
  • Share of voice: of every mention of the brands you track, the slice that's yours.
  • Position: where you're named among them, on average.
  • Win rate: the share of answers where you come up first.
  • Sentiment: 0 to 100, scored only on answers that went through analysis.
  • Used as a source: how often your site is cited.

Next to them: the AI Visibility Score, the Opportunity Score (the share of answers where a competitor shows up and you don't) and data coverage, meaning how many checks were planned, finished and failed. Below that, a trend against your competitors, the top brands and sources, and your visibility by prompt level (general, mid or niche), so you see whether you only show up once the question gets specific.

Click any number, get the answers under it

Click through and each answer opens in a wide side panel: your brand highlighted, every brand in the order it was named, every source with the words shown next to it, and the searches the engine ran. Previous and Next walk you through the lot. No black box, no "trust us".

Your site never in the sources? Make sure the bots can read it first. The free AI crawler test shows which ones get in, and it needs no invite.

One ChatGPT answer: the demo brand named first and cited, next to the five other sources.

The tool's free. The checks aren't.

This LLM visibility checker lives inside the tracker, and the tracker is invite-only while it's in beta. I don't pay for anyone's checks, not even the first one. Each check goes through your own DataForSEO key, DataForSEO charges your account at its usual rates, and each run quotes you before a single request goes out. No card, no sales call.

Want real answers before you spend a cent? On Oct 10 I asked five engines who to follow in SEO and kept every answer. Dig through all of them, free, no invite.

Checks cost cents. Run 100 weekly prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overview and Perplexity and it's about $4.77 a month; throw Claude in and 25 weekly prompts on all five come to about $7.00. Try your own numbers in the AI tracking cost calculator.

Every check after the first is saved with its date. Line them up week after week and you've got the AI rank tracker. The tool is free while it's in beta, and paid plans will cost under $10 a month.

How it's measured

A 0% never shows up without a reason. Under 10 answers? Too few to call. No tracked brand named in any answer? Your prompts may not be asking for companies. Competitors named and you not? That's a real zero, and it stings. An engine that returned nothing counts as unknown, never as a "no".

Each rate shows its likely range and answer count, so one check reads as what it is: a snapshot, not a verdict.

From invite to first check

How it works
  1. Get the invite

Leave your email and site. The link is single-use, dies after 7 days; set your own password and add your DataForSEO key.

  2. Pick the prompts

From discovery or pasted in. The quote shows up before a single request goes out.

  3. Read the board

Five engines, six rates, every answer. DataForSEO bills you per answer, in cents.

Questions people ask

Is the checker really free?

Half of it. The tool costs nothing during the beta. The checks cost money, and it's yours, not mine: each one runs on your own DataForSEO key at DataForSEO's rates, anywhere from under a cent to a few cents an answer, the first check included. Free and open without an invite: the AI crawler test and the real answers I pulled on Oct 10.

Why do I need an invite to check my site?

Because it's one person, not a team. Invites go out in batches so whatever breaks gets fixed before the next lot arrives.

Which engines does the check cover?

All five: ChatGPT and Gemini, read straight from their apps; Perplexity and Claude, asked through their APIs; and Google's AI Overview, pulled from Google's results page.

How much can one check tell me?

One snapshot's worth, and it doesn't pretend otherwise. Each rate carries its likely range and its answer count, and any 0% tells you why, including 'too few answers to call it'. Answers move around, so every check after that gets saved with a date and you can line them up against each other.

How do I make the first check count?

Pick prompts that ask for companies: 'best booking app for hair salons' gets a list of brands, 'how do salon bookings work' gets a lecture. Start from the citations: discovery pulls up prompts that already use your domain, or a competitor's, as a source. Add the competitors you actually lose to; any brand the answers mention that you're not tracking still gets listed, one click to track it. And steal the engines' own questions: the searches ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude ran behind their answers are listed too, and one click turns a search into a tracked prompt.

Do I keep the results?

Yes. Each answer gets saved along with the brands it named, the links it used and the raw provider response. Take it all out as an XLSX workbook, print the one-page report, or hand out a read-only link.
