LLM Visibility Tracker

Profound alternative

Profound is built for big brands and the agencies that serve them, and the pricing says so: a 7-day trial, then a custom Enterprise quote, or $399 a month per client workspace for agencies. Here's the cheap version, and where Profound is still the better buy.

Why agencies look for a Profound alternative

For brands, Profound's pricing page shows two things. A free 7-day trial: 50 prompts a day across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, in one language and one region, with no history, exports or API. And Enterprise, with a custom price. A brand that wants to pay a public price can't, because there isn't one.

Agencies get public prices on the For agencies tab. Agency Growth is $99 a month plus add-ons, with 10 pitch workspaces a month and 5 agency seats. Every client you actually track is a $399-a-month workspace: 100 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. One client costs $498 a month. Five cost $2,094.

A workspace works out to 9,000 answers a month, about 4.4 cents an answer before the $99. That's the number to beat.

Where Profound is better

  • Engines: Enterprise covers up to 9 answer engines, including Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and DeepSeek. Here it's five, plus OpenRouter models you add, and no AI Mode or Copilot.
  • Collection: Profound captures its daily runs from the browser front end, not the API. I do the same for ChatGPT and Gemini, which come from the consumer apps, but Perplexity and Claude go through their APIs.
  • Traffic: Agent Analytics shows AI bot visits and AI referrals through CDN integrations. I only check your robots.txt.
  • Extras: Prompt Volumes for researching what people ask, FactCheck, which flags inaccurate claims and their sources, and AI Marketer agents that run on credits.
  • Team kit: CSV and JSON exports, an API and SSO on Enterprise, and 5 agency seats on Agency Growth.

Where this one is better

  • A price you can read: the tracker costs nothing while the beta lasts, and paid plans will cost under $10 a month. There's no per-client fee.
  • The same three engines, at cost: 100 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overview comes to about $29.40 a month per client at DataForSEO's prices. Weekly, about $4.25.
  • Gemini and Claude for everyone: they're ordinary engines here, priced per answer, no Enterprise conversation. See the Gemini rank tracker and the Claude rank tracker.
  • No client limit: a prospect is just another client: add the site, run a check, see the quote first.
  • History from the first check: every check is a dated snapshot, and you can compare any two, prompt by prompt.
  • Reports clients can open: a read-only share link with no login that shows no prices and no data providers, plus a PDF and an XLSX with one citation per row.

Who should stay with Profound

Big brands with an enterprise budget who want nine engines, SSO, an API and someone to call. Agencies whose retainers turn $399 a client into a rounding error, and who want seats for the whole team plus agents doing some of the work. If procurement is involved, an invite-only beta built by one SEO is not your vendor. That's fine. Different jobs.

How to switch from Profound

  1. Get your prompts out. Agency client workspaces and Enterprise list CSV and JSON exports. The trial has none, so copy the prompts by hand before it ends.
  2. Request an invite, then add each client, its sites and its competitors.
  3. Paste the prompts, or let discovery find prompts where a competitor's site is already cited.
  4. Pick engines, read the quote, run. Check number one bills to your own DataForSEO account, same as the rest.

Your Profound history stays with Profound. Here, the record starts at your first check and every one after it is kept.

Questions people ask

How much does Profound cost?

For brands, the pricing page shows a free 7-day trial and a custom Enterprise plan with no public price. Agencies pay $99 a month plus add-ons, and every client workspace is another $399 a month. The page doesn't say more about the billing period than '/month'.

Does this track the same engines as Profound?

Partly. Both cover ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews, though Profound puts Perplexity and Claude on Enterprise for brands. Profound's Enterprise also lists Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and DeepSeek, which aren't tracked here.

Can I pitch prospects with it?

Yes. A prospect is just another client. Add the site and its competitors, discover or paste prompts and run a check. The quote shows what it costs before anything is sent.

Is the data collected the same way?

Not exactly. Profound grabs its answers from the browser front end. Here, ChatGPT and Gemini answers come out of the consumer apps, Perplexity and Claude get queried through their APIs with web search switched on, and AI Overviews are pulled off Google's results page.

Can clients open a report without a login?

Yes. The read-only share link opens without a login, can be revoked, and shows no prices and no data providers. There's also a PDF and an XLSX workbook.
