Every number lifted off the vendor's own site, at the month-to-month price if they'll sell you one. Checked Oct 8, 2026.

What LLM tracking is

LLM tracking means asking AI engines the questions your buyers ask, over and over, and logging who gets named, in what order, and which sites get cited. A single answer proves nothing: rerun the prompt and you'll get a different one. You need lots of answers per prompt, piled up over weeks. The AI rank tracker page has the long version.

How I ranked them

Price first, because that's what rules most of these out for a small shop. Most charge per prompt, per engine, per month, and it adds up damn fast. Then: which engines come on the cheapest plan and which are paid extras, whether it shows citations and where competitors beat you, and whether you can try it free.

Every number comes from the vendor's own pages, read on Oct 8, 2026. When a vendor's pages contradict each other, I say so instead of picking the nicer figure. The order and the "good for" lines are my opinion.

1. LLM Visibility Tracker (mine, obviously)

LLM Visibility Tracker overview screen: the weekly trend plus six rates (win rate, visibility, share of voice, position, sentiment, used as a source)
The overview, on a made-up demo brand: every rate, its change and the weekly trend.

Good for: SEOs and small shops who want the engines that matter without a subscription eating the margin.

I built this, so read everything below with that in mind. It finds the prompts first: ones where your site or a rival's already gets cited, or the questions people ask around a topic. Then it asks ChatGPT and Gemini through their consumer apps, Perplexity through the Sonar API, Claude through Anthropic's API with web search, and reads Google's AI Overview. Got a favourite OpenRouter model? If it can search the web, it can join. Each answer gets saved along with the brands it named, the sources behind it and the raw response.

Free in beta. The checks bill straight to your DataForSEO account at whatever they cost, which for 100 weekly prompts on everything except Claude is about $4.77 a month. Paid plans come later and stay under $10 a month.

Where it falls short: invite-only for now. No Google AI Mode, no Copilot, no API, no Looker Studio. The ChatGPT index that discovery uses covers US English only. And you need a DataForSEO account, which is one more login.

Get in the beta or see how it works.

2. LLMrefs

Screenshot: LLMrefs homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of LLMrefs, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: llmrefs.com

Good for: Hundreds of prompts on every engine for one flat bill.

One plan, $79 a month, 500 prompts on all its engines and unlimited projects. Hard to argue with if a weekly refresh is enough for you. You feed it keywords and it writes the fan-out prompts itself.

  • Cheapest way in: All in One plan, $79/mo
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta, DeepSeek
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: not stated.
  • Free to try: 7 days
  • Gotchas: Dashboard updated at least once a week per keyword; Single published plan; $79 price marked 'Limited time only'

3. Otterly.AI

Screenshot: Otterly.AI homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of Otterly.AI, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: otterly.ai

Good for: A real tracker for under $30 a month.

At $29 billed monthly, it's the cheapest dedicated tracker here that doesn't make you sign up for a year. Fifteen prompts is tight, though, and you don't get the API or the Looker Studio connector until Standard at $189.

  • Cheapest way in: Lite plan, $29/mo
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, MS Copilot
  • Pay more for: Google AI Mode: $9 / $59 / $149 per month (Lite / Standard / Premium); Google Gemini: $9 / $59 / $149 per month (Lite / Standard / Premium); Claude: $29 / $109 / $439 per month (Lite / Standard / Premium)
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: yes.
  • Free to try: 7 days (FAQ); a homepage banner says 14 days
  • Gotchas: 15 prompts on Lite; +100 prompts ($99/mo) not available on Lite; Gemini, AI Mode and Claude cost extra on every plan

Want Gemini and Claude without the add-ons? The Otterly alternative page does the maths.

4. Ahrefs Brand Radar

Screenshot: Ahrefs Brand Radar homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of Ahrefs Brand Radar, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: ahrefs.com/brand-radar

Good for: Paying per check instead of buying a prompt bundle.

Custom prompts are sold by the check: $50 a month buys 2,500 and overage is two cents each, so you pay roughly for what you run. The pre-built index of 462M+ prompts is a separate, pricier purchase per platform.

  • Cheapest way in: Custom prompts Basic plan, $50/mo
  • Engines on it: AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude
  • Pay more for: Claude: each update uses 8 checks instead of 1 (custom prompts only); AI Visibility Index: $199/mo per platform, $699/mo for all platforms
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: not stated.
  • Free to try: not stated on their site
  • Gotchas: Custom prompts priced per check; overage billed monthly; Index chatbot data re-tested monthly on a 90-day reporting window

5. Rankscale

Screenshot: Rankscale homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of Rankscale, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: rankscale.ai

Good for: The long tail of engines: Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral.

At least ten engines on the cheapest plan, all paid from one pot of credits that each engine burns at its own rate. A Claude run costs 8 times a ChatGPT run, so a Claude-heavy setup drains credits fast. It also shows the query fan-out with probed domains, wins and losses.

  • Cheapest way in: Essentials plan, $17/mo (yearly)
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, Grok, Copilot, AI Mode, AI Overview
  • Pay more for: No per-engine fee, but credits per run differ: AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini 0.25; DeepSeek 1; Claude 2 (credit calculator)
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: not stated.
  • Free to try: 7 days (Pro plan, limited credits)
  • Gotchas: Essentials is billed yearly only; Essentials: no sentiment analysis, custom dashboards, CSV/Sheets export or Data Studio

Tired of converting credits? The Rankscale alternative page prices the same checks in dollars.

6. SE Ranking AI Search Toolkit

Screenshot: SE Ranking AI Search Toolkit homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of SE Ranking AI Search Toolkit, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: seranking.com

Good for: SEOs who need a rank tracker anyway.

The AI part ships inside the Core SEO plan: five LLMs, 100 prompts tracked every day, and AI competitor research on up to 5 domains. If you'd pay for the suite regardless, LLM tracking comes in the same bill.

  • Cheapest way in: Core plan, $129/mo
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Mode, AI Overviews
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: yes.
  • Free to try: 14 days
  • Gotchas: Core: 100 prompts and 5 GEO research domains; Trial: 20 AI prompts a day, 3 domains for AI competitive research

7. Peec AI

Screenshot: Peec AI homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of Peec AI, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: peec.ai

Good for: Teams with budget who want daily runs and deep source data.

$95 a month gets 50 prompts on 3 of its 6 models, and every extra model is another monthly fee. What you pay for is the source side: citation share by domain and URL, and the sources that name competitors but skip you.

  • Cheapest way in: Starter plan, $95/mo
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Naver AI
  • Pay more for: Each extra model: $30/mo on Starter, $70/mo on Pro, $140/mo on Advanced, billed annually; Perplexity, Claude Sonnet 4, GPT 5 Search, Grok, Deepseek, Qwen, Mistral and Meta Spark appear only under Enterprise in the plan comparison table
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: yes.
  • Free to try: yes, length not stated on their site
  • Gotchas: Starter: pick 3 of 6 models; each extra model costs more; Prompt caps per plan: 50 / 150 / 350

Every Peec plan, agency ones included, is broken down in Peec AI pricing. Leaving Peec: start with the Peec AI alternative page.

8. Nightwatch

Screenshot: Nightwatch homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of Nightwatch, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: nightwatch.io

Good for: One bill for Google rankings and AI prompts.

Prompt tracking sits in the same plans as Google, Bing and YouTube rank tracking. Small plan or big one, the AI platforms don't change; bigger plans just buy you more volume. Prices are in euros only, with no USD switch.

  • Cheapest way in: Starter plan, EUR 99/mo billed monthly (EUR 79/mo billed yearly)
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overview
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: not stated.
  • Free to try: 14 days
  • Gotchas: Prices shown in EUR only; no USD price or currency switch found; Looker Studio, API and white label reports from Professional

9. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Screenshot: Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: semrush.com

Good for: People who already live in Semrush.

The pricing card promises four AI platforms, but the help center lists three for tracked prompts, so read the small print. The research side is the good bit: prompt volume, difficulty and intent, plus prompts where competitors are cited and you aren't.

  • Cheapest way in: AI Visibility Toolkit (Base) plan, $99/mo
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, Perplexity
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: yes.
  • Free to try: no
  • Gotchas: 25 tracked prompts on the toolkit alone; +50 prompts for $60/mo; Prompt Tracking covers ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode and Gemini only, desktop only

10. Scrunch AI

Screenshot: Scrunch AI homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of Scrunch AI, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: scrunch.com

Good for: One brand that wants AI-agent site audits with its tracking.

Every brand is its own $250 subscription, and Core gives you 4 LLMs in one country and one language. The extras are about fixing stuff: AI-agent site audits, page optimizations aimed at those agents, and content-gap insights.

  • Cheapest way in: Core plan, $250/mo
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AIO, Copilot
  • Pay more for: Enterprise only: Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode, Grok
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: not stated.
  • Free to try: 7 days
  • Gotchas: Priced per brand: each tracked brand needs its own subscription; Core: 4 LLMs, 1 country, 1 language, 1 persona

11. Profound

Screenshot: Profound homepage on Oct 9, 2026
Homepage of Profound, screenshotted Oct 9, 2026: tryprofound.com

Good for: Big brands, and agencies whose retainers swallow a per-client fee.

There's no price for a paid brand plan, just a 7-day trial and then an Enterprise quote. Agencies do get numbers: $99 a month, then $399 a month for every client workspace. Answers are captured from the browser front end, not the API.

  • Cheapest way in: Trial plan, free trial, then custom
  • Engines on it: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews
  • Pay more for: Enterprise only (price not public): Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Anthropic Claude, Exa Search, up to 9 engines
  • Digs up prompts: yes. Tracks citations: yes. Rival gaps: yes.
  • Free to try: 7 days
  • Gotchas: No public price for a paid brand plan; Trial: 7 days, 3 engines, no history, exports or API

Paying $399 a client? The Profound alternative page lays out the per-client maths.

See Profound's prices

Which one I'd pick

  • Solo and skint: Otterly Lite, or get in this beta.
  • Hundreds of prompts: LLMrefs, while the $79 price lasts.
  • Already paying Ahrefs, Semrush or SE Ranking: use the AI part you've got before adding another tool.
  • Need AI Mode or Copilot: not this tool. Rankscale, LLMrefs and Peec AI list both.
  • Lots of clients: watch per-brand and per-workspace pricing, because it multiplies with every client you sign.
  • Leaving Peec AI, Profound, Otterly or Rankscale: each has its own switch guide on the alternatives page.

Whatever you buy, make sure you can open the actual answer behind every number. If you can't, you're paying for a chart.
