How the math works
Answers a month = prompts × clients × engines × runs a month. Then each answer gets its price:
- Runs a month: daily is 365/12 (about 30.4), weekly is 52/12 (about 4.33), monthly is 1.
- Each answer costs what DataForSEO charges for it, per the app's price catalog (version dataforseo-2026-10-05). ChatGPT and Gemini have two prices: queued answers arrive within about 45 minutes, live ones cost more and come back straight away.
- Claude's price is an estimate. It's billed on tokens plus web searches, so a long answer costs more than a short one.
- Monthly cost = answers a month × price per answer. Cost per prompt = monthly cost ÷ prompts.
The default, worked by hand
100 prompts weekly on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overview and Perplexity: 0.12 + 0.12 + 0.20 + 0.66 = 1.10 cents a prompt per run. Times100 prompts, that's $1.10 a run. Times 52/12 runs, it's $4.77 a month.
What the number leaves out
The calculator counts checks only, not prompt discovery. OpenRouter models aren't in it either: add one and its answers bill to your own OpenRouter account at that model's rates, which no calculator can know in advance.
A tracker, or DataForSEO direct?
A tracker's price bundles the answers, a dashboard and support. Here the answers cost what DataForSEO charges, not a cent more, and the software costs zero until the beta ends. Paid plans come later, under $10 a month. Read how the beta pricing works, see every LLM visibility tracker compared, or check the alternatives if you're leaving one.
